April is a fantastic time to visit San Diego, with daytime high temperatures typically ranging from the upper 60s °F (mid-20s °C), offering ideal conditions to enjoy the city’s scenic waterfront, outdoor activities, and vibrant neighborhoods.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in business casual attire and wear comfortable shoes. As convention centers can often be cool, bringing a sweater or light jacket is also recommended.

Navigating to the convention center and exploring the city is easy, thanks to numerous transportation options, including public transit, car rentals, rideshares, and more.

Travel Tips

1. Do not wear your name badge outside of the convention center. Take your badge and lanyard off when leaving the convention center, and keep them in a pocket or purse until you arrive in the building each day. Conference badges/lanyards are prominent indicators that you are from out of town, which may make you an easy target.
2. Do not carry your passport or large amounts of cash after checking into your hotel. Instead, store these valuables in the in-room safe to help minimize potential losses in the event of theft.
3. Be observant of your environment. Use well-lit streets and areas that feel safe. Select the shortest route between your hotel and destination while avoiding any deserted areas. Ask the hotel front desk or doorman about any areas to avoid.
4. Avoid drawing attention to yourself by wearing low-profile clothing and being discreet when checking maps. If you need directions, approach someone in a secure setting like a hotel or store. Be cautious of unsolicited requests for help on the street, as pickpockets can use these tactics to create distractions.
5. Avoid traveling by yourself. There is safety in numbers — travel in pairs or groups.

To save time, use the Self-Service Express Check-In kiosks located in the registration area. Simply scan your barcode to print your name badge and get your #HRS2025 experience started!
