#HRS2023 Social Responsibility Partners
Last August 2022, after thorough discussion and debate, HRS elected to remain in New Orleans, LA, as planned for Heart Rhythm 2023. This decision led to the creation of a Social Responsibility Task Force. Charged with developing a plan to positively impact the host city, this Task Force aimed to identify and support local organizations supporting women’s access to medical care and personal health choices.
The Social Responsibility Task Force has selected two local nonprofits that fulfill this objective: Women With A Vision and Lift Louisiana. HRS is committed to supporting these impactful organizations by helping them to increase awareness of their mission, services, and fundraising goals by introducing them to its global members and meeting attendees. The Society will also make a one-time donation to their fundraising campaigns.

Women With A Vision (WWAV)
The mission of Women With A Vision (WWAV) is to improve the lives of marginalized women, their families, and communities by addressing the social conditions that hinder their health and well-being. WWAV accomplishes this through relentless advocacy, health education, supportive services, and community-based participatory research.
Founded in 1989 by a grassroots collective of African-American women in response to the spread of HIV/AIDS, they have become New Orleans’ premier women’s health organization combining service and advocacy to address the social conditions and injustices that impact the city’s most marginalized women. Lift Louisiana
The mission of Lift Louisiana is to educate, advocate, and litigate for policy changes needed to improve the health and well-being of Louisiana’s women, their families, and their communities. They do this by pursuing impact litigation in defense of reproductive rights and by providing legal advocacy for patients and providers via strategies developed by an advisory board of diverse legal experts.
